Can I watch my child while they are in
class?
Of course! Family members are welcome visitors in Imagination Station.
Please feel free to join us for snack, field trips, or simply to observe
in the classroom.
What is your
policy for illness?
Imagination Station follows the Illness Policy set by the State Department
of Health & Welfare, and will be included in the New Student Handbook.
What is your discipline policy?
Imagination Station is a place where children learn rules of
cooperation and refine their social skills. In our program, children have
many hands on experiences, make choices and spend limited amount of time
sitting and listening to adults. Because they are so busy, the amount of
misbehavior is kept to a minimum.
We know however that
conflicts will arise as they do in everyday life, so we help children
resolve conflicts in positive and safe ways. Our number one rule is that
we are all safe here. This ensures children’s safety, health, and
personal rights. We set the rules with our children so they understand
them and gain self-control. When spirits do get high, we use redirection
as a means of guidance and discipline. Physical punishment is never
used. We do not use time-outs though we may remove a child from the group
if she or he is hurting himself or herself or another child. In this
situation, a teacher would remain with the child to help he or she regain
composure.
